The last day of the free Aadhaar update service by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is coming. This update service is available for those who have wrong information in Aadhaar or who want to upload latest documents. This update service is expiring soon, so if you want to update your Aadhaar details, hurry up and take advantage of it.

Free Aadhaar Update Deadline

According to UIDAI, the free deadline for online document update service has started from 15th March 2023, which has recently been extended till 14th September 2023 in the month of June 2023. This means that till September 14, you will get a chance to update your Aadhaar details for free and you can make corrections in them.

How to update Aadhaar online

Follow the following steps to update Aadhaar details online:

1. First visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ portal and log in with your Aadhaar number.

2. Enter the One Time Password (OTP) sent to the registered mobile number.

3. Click on ‘Update Document’ option and your Aadhaar details will be displayed.

4. Verify your details and click on the next hyper-link if correct.

5. Now select Proof of Identity and Proof of Address documents and upload their copies.

6. The list of documents uploaded by you will be available on the official website of UIDAI.

 

Fees at Physical Aadhaar Centers

It is worth noting that the free online document update service is available only on the myAadhaar portal. At the same time, a fee of Rs 50 will be applicable for updating at physical Aadhaar centers.

So, if there is any wrong information in your Aadhaar and you want to rectify it, then take immediate action. This free service will expire soon and you may have to pay a fee.
